Jacob could only do so much alone, but fortunately, Cherise and Lucy, both medical students, were there to a*sist him.
âThis is the twenty-third.â
Cherise accepted the objects Jacob extracted from Mandyâs b*dy, her brow knitting in
concern. âSheâŠâ
âThese are all just accessories.â
Jacob delicately removed the last crystal from beneath Mandyâs skin. âI hope Iâm wrong, but a chip might be inside her brain.â
âThese are just components. Theyâre basically the accessories that receive signals from that chip.â
Cherise was left in shock, unable to find her words. Damien had been correct.
Jacob injected a dose into Mandyâs bloodstream. âHer face certainly didnât look like this before.â

Damien sat on the nearby sofa, his brows furrowed as he watched her. âWho did this to you?â
Taking a deep breath, Mandy summoned the strength to rise from the bed and kneel before Cherise and Damien.
